Contact Aus Gutters

Call 08 7078 7023: our local Perth gutter team is licensed and insured, every quote is free, and we get out the same day where we can.

The phone is the quickest way to reach us: call 08 7078 7023, say what your gutters are doing and which suburb you are in, and we take it from there.

Roof leaks, gutters overflowing in the first winter front, rust holes, sagging runs, or old guttering that has had its day: these are the calls we take most. We clean, repair, replace and install gutters and downpipes, fit gutter guards, and handle roof plumbing such as roof valleys and flashings.

Ways to reach us

  • Phone: 08 7078 7023, during the hours shown on this page. If we miss you, leave your name and suburb and we call you back.

What to have ready for a quote

You do not need to know what is wrong before you ring; a wet patch on the ceiling or water sheeting over the front door is enough. A few details make the quote quicker.

  • Your suburb, and single or double storey. Near the coast, salt spray is hard on unpainted steel; against the Darling Scarp, jarrah and marri drop far more litter. Double storey changes the ladder work and the price.
  • Tile or tin: concrete or terracotta tile, or Colorbond or zincalume sheet. The two are worked differently at the gutter line.
  • What is happening and where: overflow at one corner, a drip at a join, rust holes, a sagging run, a downpipe pouring beside the footings, or water inside.
  • When it happens. Overflow in every shower usually means a blockage; overflow only in the heaviest fronts can mean an undersized gutter or downpipe.
  • Access: locked gates, dogs, power lines near the gutter, or solar panels.
  • Photos, if you have them; what to shoot is below.

What happens after you get in touch

Whether it is a gutter clean or a full replacement, we talk it through, look at the job and put the quote in writing before anything is booked.

Timing matters, though. More than half of Perth's rain falls in June, July and August, after a long dry spell in which sand, gum leaves and bark settle in the gutters, and the first heavy front finds every blockage and rusted joint at once. If you can, book a clean or a known repair in autumn; if it is already raining, call anyway.

The monthly averages behind that pattern are public. See the Bureau of Meteorology's Perth climate statistics.

The call back

Ring during the hours on this page and you speak to us straight away. Outside those hours, leave a message with your name and suburb and we call you back when the phones next open. On that call we confirm what the gutters are doing, where the house is and how soon you need it done.

Quoting from photos or on site

A gutter clean or a small repair can often be priced from a clear description and a few photos from the ground. A replacement, new gutters on an extension, gutter guards or a roof leak need someone on the roof first, so we book a time to come out. Either way we check the whole run and every downpipe, because the gutter that overflows is not always the one that is blocked.

Photos from the ground tell us more than a description. Do not climb onto the roof for them, and never in the rain. Useful shots:

  • The whole roof line from the street: storeys, roof type and where the downpipes are.
  • Where water overflows or drips, during or just after rain if it is safe.
  • Any rust, sag, gap or stain along the gutter or the eaves lining.
  • Where the downpipe discharges: stormwater drain, soakwell or straight onto the ground.

The written quote

Every quote is written before any work starts: what we will do, the material and profile if anything is being replaced (Colorbond or zincalume, and the colour), whether downpipes, removal of the old guttering and clean-up are included, and the price. If you go ahead, we book a day that suits you; if the roof hides a surprise once the old gutter comes off, you hear about it before anything changes.

Gutter leak or roof leak

A gutter problem shows at the roof edge: overflow over the lip, a drip at a join, water tracking back under the eaves. A roof problem shows elsewhere: a stain in the middle of a ceiling, a drip around a chimney, skylight or vent, or water pouring out of a valley or box gutter.

Valleys, flashings and box gutters are roof plumbing work; cracked or slipped tiles are a roofing job. If the leak is anywhere other than the gutter line, ask for a roof plumber and say where the water shows up. Not sure? Call anyway: the fix is often both, an old valley and the rusted gutter it drains into, and we work out which before we quote.

FAQs

Contact questions

Is the quote really free?

Yes. There is no charge and no obligation. We look at the job, on site or from your photos, give you a written price and leave the decision with you.

How soon can someone come out?

Same day where possible, and water coming into the house goes to the front of the queue. Once the winter rain starts, from about June, every gutter team in Perth is busy, so tell us whether the job can wait a few days and you get a realistic time, not a guess.

Which parts of Perth do you cover?

The whole Perth metro area, north and south of the river. Duncraig, Joondalup, Morley, Floreat and Victoria Park have their own pages, and the service areas page lists the councils and suburbs we work in. Not there? Tell us where you are.

What if my gutters are overflowing right now?

Call now and say water is getting in. While you wait, keep off the roof. If you can reach it safely from the ground, clear leaves from the top of the downpipe, and move anything valuable away from the wet patch inside. Never stand under a sagging ceiling.
